Biomethane is CO² neutral - why?
Biogas or the biomethane obtained from biogas is CO²-neutral because only the amount of carbon dioxide can be released during the production of biogas, which was absorbed by the plant during its growth. The field remains from it, the straw and also manure from the barn, are now used in a climate-friendly manner for energy production. With the right technology, the use of conventional crops becomes obsolete. In addition, the soil is relieved by removing excess field remains and the potential for pathogens for subsequent crops is minimized. By using field residues, straw and stable manure in energy production, we not only make a significant contribution to climate protection, we also increase economic efficiency.
Interesting facts from BioG
Did you know that energy production from straw and manure is CO² neutral? Only the amount of CO² that the plant has absorbed in its life can be released during energy production. It’s called a circular economy.
